It was easy and simple to buy from Donner. The guitar felt so premium and well made and the extra goodies that come with it made it even more special!

Between myself a a few friends, we have bought three of them in two weeks. Love it, nice and light. easy to play, sounds great, especially through my Spark 40 amp. If i had a problem with it it would be the action being a bit too high.

Although I have had the Hush i guitar for a few weeks I have only played it for one day as I had to go away and couldn’t take it with me. Will be back to it in a week. It is very good and the sound and quality is excellent. The only complaint was one of the handles on the case was not sewn properly and the end broke free. This issue is being resolved at the moment.
Doug S.
Just what I was after. Perfect as carry on and to travel with.
Worth noting is plays like an acoustic without the sound.
Headphones are great.
All in all a fantastic little package for a great price.
David S.
Overall extremely happy with the Hush-I. I however, like a lot of others, I feel the action is too high and the truss rod needed a small adjustment.
I also suggest that the carry strap/guitar strap be replaced by a permanent carry strap (sewn) as the attach clips are too clunky and the guitar ends don’t fit well.
Plays great and a is quite comfortable.

My son is enjoying learning guitar with it using the Donner Music App.

The reviews on youtube were good and I was not disappointed.
I had a Washburn travel guitar before this and the guitar was good but needed a pickup, and the case was shoddily made. The Hush guitar is a great size, has a pickup and the case is practical and well made (not sure about the handles).
The Donner people have though of everything with audio source input, headphone output and a conventional guitar jack. The bottom tuners work well and the guitar stays in tune well. I was concerned that the action was a bit high when I received it and then found out it has a truss rod under the Donner cover at the base of the fret board. Innovation at its best.

After much consideration and reading reviews before I decided to purchase the Donner Hush I Silent Guitar. Here are the many reasons why I recommend this product. It is:
Light to carry
Silent for practice
Affordable
Stylish and
Good Quality
For the price and high quality that it comes with, one can’t go wrong.
Enjoy!

Customer service was very quick to resolve the issue I had with the guitar.

The urlyn key for turning the guitar keeps falling out, the metal arm rest does not fit as it should in the hole, the screw hole on the big arm rest does not aline with the hole on the guitar, if the screw is put in ,the arm lifts out on the other hole with no screw,

Great product. Awesome communication and delivery speed.

The guitar perfectly suits my needs, which is for a quality travel instrument that easily fits into our campervan slide-out drawer.
My only criticisms are: 1. It needs an in-built tuner because there's no spot to properly place a clip-on tuner onto; and 2. I have some reservations about how long the single legged bottom frame will last before it becomes loose by eroding the wood of its single hole through leverage and twisting pressure - I would much prefer that the bottom frame was two-legged like the top frame (and I see no reason why it couldn't be).

Very compact and playable travel guitar. Very good tone when connecting pedals and digital amps

Love it. Getting used to the different configuration but love the sound and the convenience of plugging in with the headphones and letting rip. Great product.

My black hush-i arrived safely and in very good time. It is beautiful. The action was very high and quite a bend up on the neck. Nothing that the truss rod adjustment and lowering the saddle to correct the action didn’t fix. It plays awesome. It is especially suited being used with my Spark amp for different tones. I have the new Spark Go also coming to improve my experience on the go even more. Great guitar at a great otice. Very happy

My main concern was that the guitar wasn't set up very well the action was high and the truss rod wasn't adjusted so I had to spend another 99 dollars at my local music store getting an adjustment. It was much better after that but I was disappointed that it couldn't have been set up right out of the box. Otherwise it was ok, although the action was not as good as my two acoustics . Does the job though.

First appearances were amazing, exactly how I expected it after reading the reviews.
Really nice quality and feel, very easy to assemble and tune up however after playing it for about 5 minutes I realised the string action was excessive.
Somewhere around 5-6mm at the 12th fret which makes it largely unplayable after around the 5th or 6th fret.
Having a look as some of the other reviews online, I noted that one or two others had experience this and a quick truss rod adjustment was needed, so after taking a measurement (6.5mm), detuning and a quick 1/8 turn of the truss rod, then retuning.
I expected to see around 4.5 mm.
But the guitar still measured 6.5mm.
So, 1/4 turn by 1/4 turn I kept measuring.
Very little change until the truss rod started to get pretty tight.
At this point I thought I should stop but the action was still 4mm.
It seems the truss rod has very little effect on the string action.
Whether this is a problem with the truss rod, the neck, the nut or the saddle, I'm not sure but I was able to push it further into that uncomfortable zone of tight, and was subsequently able to lower the action to a comfortable playing height.
If this was a very expensive guitar, I probably wouldn't have had the guts to turn the truss rod this far, it is excessively tight.
And the action is good at the first 5 frets but still pretty high after the 12th.
Obviously 5/12 are average.
My question here is, do I have an oddball guitar with a badly made or badly seated neck?
Or is the saddle too high?
I doubt that removing any saddle material would affect the first 5 frets very much.
So I will leave this in the hands of donner and would like to hear any advice on moving forward with this issue.
I have over 20 guitars, some of them are budget range and some expensive.
I am confident on setting all of them up to a high standard.
Any help would be appreciated.

I was quite impressed with this guitar. I had watched a few videos on Youtube about this and one was negative. I found the setup and playability to be excellent and the sound is very impressive, especially when I plug into my acoustic amp. The only problem with it is the strap. The leather is too stiff to get over the strap buttons. It's not a big issue since I have several straps.
I took the guitar on a trip to Perth and spent quite a lot of time with it.
Excellent product.

Plays well and does what is asked of it.
Body not quite as well constructed as expected. The screws for the external arms are extremely fiddly. The tuning heads are difficult to use. Bluetooth would be a great addition to future models.
Generally a good toy to stop annoying my wife.
Mark M.
Love the design and the ease setting it up. Unfortunately, the headphone output develops a buzz and then tone with rising pitch and volume which is a pretty big detractor (my guess is that it's defective from the factory as I haven't read any similar reviews).
Still waiting for my Donner mini amplifier to try the 6.35mm output from the guitar but I suspect it will be the same.
Warm Regards,
Mark

Love the guitar. However, the top metal frame was missing when delivered.

For the price, its quite impressive and definitely value for money. Better than some of my more expensive guitars. The built is quite unique but solid with a hole for allenkey for tuning your sound.....I received mine with crooked or bended strings, so I contact the customer support. They decide to refund me with $30, for me I still prefer them to give me the strings as I like to keep my guitars with their supplier original strings.. Just my habit or preference anyway...Overall all good, at least they responded. Its important to have good responsive customer services. Furthermore, it comes with free lesson apps which I havent tried yet....

Feels good, stays in tune, good size and travels well

Unreal very happy with this purchase
Very handy for travelling
And amazing sound when linked through an amp so you can play with some pedals
I changed the strings to elixir 10/47 Nanoweb
The difference in the sound and the ability to do slides up and down the fingerboard makes a huge difference
Once again thanks to Donner for this amazing product
Sujoy D.
Great little guitar! Only that you can’t see the sound control (volume, low, high) knobs’ setting mark easily, when not in a brightly lit room (especially not likely if performing). It would be great if there was a red, reflective or fluro dot on the knobs’ setting marks so the desired setting can be seen more easily and adjusted quickly in any light. Especially helps if you wear any sort of glasses. Cheers

I appreciate the dedication to detail with the tuner, earphones, accessories pockets in the case, etc. It’s a total game changer to be able to practice guitar every night without my family complaining! Wish I’d had this years ago!
Nancy H.
Bought the Donner Hush-1 travel guitar. It's beautiful and stylish. The set-up was great right out of the box. Didn't have to do any tweaks other than tune it. Love the asymmetrical neck. I never knew I needed one till now! The earphones and tuner were a very nice touch along with the case and duel use strap. It really is a complete package. If you get yelled at for practicing a lot at home, buy one! The earphones are really good! They pick up nuances better than most of the other small headphones I own. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend the Donner Hush-1 travel guitar. Small enough to take everywhere, silent enough to play in a room full of TV zombies.

I filed down my saddle a bit and this plays wonderful.

I bought this guitar with the intention of sparing my wife from having to endure my not-yet-perfected guitar skills. As a beginner of over 10 years, I already own two other acoustic guitars, but Donner is my first solid body guitar. My initial impression of the entire kit was that it's an excellent choice for beginners, as it comes with everything from a tuner to picks. The gig bag is well-made, featuring plenty of cushions and adequately sized compartments to keep all your gear organized in one place. One standout feature is that the kit includes batteries for both the guitar itself and the tuner, saving you the hassle of buying them separately.
The guitar itself is crafted with high-quality materials and feels very well-made. The tuning pegs turn smoothly and responsively, making tuning a breeze. Within minutes of opening the box, I was able to start playing. I've even included a video with this review to give you an idea of its sound from the audience's perspective. It's not too quiet, but with a closed door in a room, others shouldn't hear it too loudly. However, I must admit that the promotional video is a bit misleading—it might wake a sleeping baby if you start strumming nearby.
Now, let me share my thoughts on how it feels to actually play the guitar. Keep in mind that I'm just a beginner, so take my opinions with a generous grain of salt. I found the included guitar-shaped metal piece to be somewhat impractical. Attaching and screwing it into place takes a few minutes, and without the screws, the bottom piece can rotate and occasionally come off. Since I take this guitar with me to work daily for 15-20 minute sessions, the attachment process eats into my playing time, especially when I want to play fingerstyle while sitting down.
The guitar strap is included, but the attachment holes are standard size, and one of the attachment points on the guitar doubles as an output jack, making it larger in diameter than normal. This made attaching the strap a bit challenging, and I ended up leaving it attached all the time, even when storing it in the carrying bag. Unfortunately, this caused the bag to not close properly if I wasn't careful, and the metal buckle on the strap ended up scratching the guitar while in transit.
The weight distribution of the guitar is also a bit unusual for me. The two connection points of the strap are very close together, making the neck feel much heavier than the body. As a result, I find myself holding up the neck even during brief pauses, which can be tiring.
Lastly, the guitar's shape doesn't offer many options for placing your palm while picking or doing light strumming. While it's not overly difficult to get used to, I thought it was worth mentioning.
Despite these cons, the few pros of this guitar outweigh them all. It's compact, lightweight, and incredibly easy to transport. It appears to be durable, and I can practice almost anywhere, anytime. Plus, the price is reasonable, making it a great option for beginners.
If you're considering this guitar, I suggest considering whether your situation is similar to mine and if the issues I've mentioned are things you can tolerate or adapt to. However, I can honestly say that I have no regrets about buying this guitar, and I hope my review has been helpful to you. Cheers, everyone!

I actually own one and have had it for quite a while now. I love the thing! My wife and I own our own trucking company and are team truck drivers. I can be in our truck waiting at a shipper/receiver, plug my earbuds and my iPad into it, play a backing track or lessons, and jam to my hearts content without bothering my wife while she is off shift and sleeping right on the other side of a curtain. (Hence one plausible reason a person might want a “silent guitar”.) It’s nice and compact so I occasionally even play it going down the road while she is driving. Came with a very nicely padded soft case that keeps it safe when stowed away for traveling. When home I typically play one of my numerous other guitars but this is absolutely PEFECT for my intended use. I only have two wish list items for improvement. One, it would be nice if the body pieces were a quick release for easy on/off, as it is I never use them. Two, it would be really cool if it were Bluetooth capable (output and input each independent) as the cords are constantly a pain due to having to use wired earbuds and hardwire to an iPad.

I knew when I purchased the Hush-I that I would need to adjust the action. In fact, most new guitars need at least a little bit of a setup. The wound strings are also a bit squeaky, but so are many wound acoustic strings, especially when they are new. Once I adjusted the action at the saddle and the strings were broken in a little, the Hush-I plays very nicely! I usually play with a strap, so I only rarely attach the upper and lower body pieces. While it won't take the place of my regular acoustic, this seems ideal for travel, and I have some of that coming up.
Stephen A.
Get one, you every guitarist needs this in their collection
Mike C.
Totally surprised at how good this is, really well thought design. More acoustic style than electric in neck shape and pickup type, but loads of fun.
Couple of things I did, was to lower the action about a 1mm and round off fret board edge a bit.
Only negative was the right hand stand receiver thread was burred making it difficult to attach.
Gary C.
I liked it so much I bought 1 for my son, he loves it too.

Arrived latter than stated by supplier due delays from courier. Was charged for shipping when web page stated free shipping, over happy with product better than last silent/ travel guitar. Can not take anything away from a excellent product.
Gary C.
Great guitar for the price and for practice, don't have to disturb others. Action was a bit high for me, but I fixed that with a few adjustments. Stays in tune quite well.
Quality is good for the price. No complaints here, I would recommend this to anyone wanting to practice quietly.
Christopher N.
A great product! Allows me to practice without annoying the family.

I like everything about this guitar .. packing, delivery, quality of build, playability. Good luck with your future projects!

The quality is excellent and it was promptly sent. A lot of extra pieces came with it, as Donner usually does, which is great. Sounds very clean. The only thing I will do is put on the lighter gauge strings that I like. Other than that, well done Donner!

I'm thrilled with DONNER. Another instrument, the Travel/Silent HUSH-I guitar, which inspires me to play music. Ergonomically built and great sound. The upper arm posture is stable, compared to the forearm, but this is not annoying. Surely you can think about alternatives without Allen key for the next version, to save time when assembling and tuning.
Thank you very much!
Bryll D.
I love the design and it does have a great sound, also it's very light i can just carry it without the weight hussle but one thing i dont like about this guitar is the ground connection. i get an annoying humming sound when i plug it in to my audio interface. but i did found a sulotion by sanding a lil bit of metal to where the ground wire is connected.
Tom C.
Firstly, I like the concept, the guitar is very light weight, has a great tone and generally nice finish. I do have a problem with the right support though. The retaining screws in both supports were very hard to turn as the threads in both the supports are not cut very well and have not been cleaned properly. The first time I tried to unscrew the one in the right support, the thread of the screw broke off in the hole. The right support is now unusable as it can't be secured in the body of the guitar. Very dissapointing. My guitar was only two days old when it happened.
Neil M.
I found this a well-constructed and easy-to-use practice instrument that can be conveniently kept close at hand and therefore has increased my practice time and proficiency.
Matty D.
Overall, it's a great little guitar with a diatonic scale that my last travel guitar didn't have. Well designed for travel and contains everything I need. The packaging is also good, although I have a song on every photo that is easily missed by QA. It's not very loud in acoustic mode. That's good for practice, but maybe the F-hole or some other opening (with a plug?) would give it a chance to sound louder. Ultimately, it's a keeper that performs on multiple levels at a great price.
Louie H.
Good quality instrument for the price. Quick delivery. Just needed some setup adjustments then all good to go. Would recommend as a travel guitar.
Glen D.
Generally happy but there are a few issues the strap locking pins are terrible, the combo strap pin and 1/4" cable plug does not work well. I have had to remove the provided strap fittings and install proper locking ones. The location of the strap pins is wrong and needs a rethink. The control knows are too small and hard to see what position they are set in, a white mark on the centre would help alot. When I look down at them all I can see is the metal bar. Try harder. Market is confused about Hush-I and Hush-X.
James L.
A very good travel guitar, plays well and sounds good. Prompt delivery and service backup from Donner.

I love this thing

So this is my experience so far. Assembling the wings I had to oil the thread and pre-screw the hex bolt in for it to be screwed in sufficiently. Initially threading was very tight and was likely to strip the hex key slot if forced. The upper wing was fine.
I noticed the build quality is kinda so so - string tree screws not centered, some strange rough yellow flecks on the neck near the head-stock end. Showed my luthier the annoying string buzz on the treble side and he'll retool the nut slots to fix it.
Sound wise the Piezo is a bit raspy and not as pure as some of the videos show. For the price it's fine and mostly about playability. On that score it's fine once you get used to the Steinberg style neck and det rid of the buzz. I was tempted to return this one but I will keep it because it has a specific role to fill. Great idea but some lack of QA affected my rating.
Chris
I quite like this guitar. The small size makes it very easy to break down for travel. For the most part, I keep it fully set up and on a ukulele stand. It's the first headless guitar I've owned, which took a little getting used to. The strings seem firmer than my other acoustics, even after changing out strings. The frets are nice and smooth, although, for me, I have to press slightly further away from the fret to get the best sound. The included headphones are okay. I prefer to use my own over-the-ear headphones. Through those headphones the sound is really good, which means I can't hide from my playing mistakes (great for working on technique). It also sounds good with an acoustic amp. The neck takes a little getting used to, but feels good. I would call this more of an intermediate guitar. If i was just starting to learn guitar, I'd probably pick something a little more traditional.
To be honest, this is not the first guitar I gravitate to using while at home. My dreadnought is easier to play and gets more use. But when I need to play quieter at home, or want to have something to take with me, this works very well.
Peter F.
Within 1 day the low E string gear stripped resulting in the guitar not being tunable or playable. I have chatted with on-line support who tell me parts might be available but it will take 35 business days to send in the mail from China. I am waiting on an email from a technician to advise what the gear specifications are so that I might source some myself.
Very poor customer service, and obviously poor quality gears.
Kristian
The guitar is excellent. Its way over par for the pricetag I would say. I recommend this warmly to anyone starting out. Its cheap and very good value for money.
Jackson R.
I like it very much after taking it apart, the quality is also very good, can't wait to play a song
Madana
Shocked by the beautiful packaging and the appearance of the guitar, love it
