The sounds are numerous, and although far from all exploitable, allow for fun. The touch, however, is that of a digital piano. Announced “heavy”, that is the case, and it does not have to blush against other more expensive keyboards; and since this is what interests us, the contract is fulfilled! The instrument looks robust, and weighs its weight, which ensures its stability. And its MIDI-USB function makes it as useful for modeling with a weighted touch as for learning piano.
Fra Pal
- Beautiful aesthetic for this piano as you can see in the photos.
- The touch is heavy as a real piano, with a beautiful finish especially on black touches of ivory type.
- The sound of the grand piano is very good, as well as others like organs or strings. In addition, you can choose the sensitivity of the keyboard to adapt precisely to this type of instrument.
- I really like having cool rhythms to practice rather than just a metronome.
- The DSP reverb effect works well with some instruments such as strings, pads, etc.
- USB connection allows you to connect to a computer and access to much more sounds and recording possibilities.
- A very good quality pedal is provided.
- The volume is loud and does not saturate
I would have preferred an AUX IN input rather than an MP3 player acessible by a USB stick.
And sounds and rhythms and accessible more easily than with the + keys and - but that's a detail.
Overall a very good digital piano

I like it so much. Just worth it.

I get what I was looking for. With this price, it is probably the best one can find, especially for beginners. However, the thickness of the instrument is really high. It may not be a big deal, but, it would be better to know that.

My son was taking piano lessons before this pandemic started. Needed a digital piano so he can continue learning and practice. This is actually a great practice piano for the price, The quality is pretty good. Well built. Sounds beautiful. It’s not too heavy, one person can lift and move the piano. Too bad It didn’t come with a piano stand but that’s okay. We can get one separately.
Guillermo
The finish looks good, it's easy and simple to use compared to other pianos my sister uses to learn piano with. The big standout for this piano at this price are the weighted keys. I wasn't expecting them to feel this good especially compared to one of my higher end digital pianos. The reason I got this one was because we needed a budget practice piano with built in speakers since having extra wires laying around won't be conventional in the new practice area. I do wish the keys were matte instead of gloss, but that's just personal preference. My sister likes the finish on these keys more than our existing piano. I also want to note that the pedal included was a lot nicer than I expected. It's shaped like an actual piano's pedal and has a polarity switch so I've been using it with my other pianos as well. Overall this whole package is really useful and I have been making use of everything

The only problem is that the logistics is a bit slow

Everything is fine, no problem to use.

This is really the next best thing to the reality of playing an actual piano and it has a lot of functions that make it worth the trade for the slight difference in keyboard.
Both myself and my husband love the sound and feel of a real piano. Unfortunately we don’t have the space and for recording, a keyboard of this caliber is really necessary.
The difference in playing is very slight, you have to have an excellent ear to even catch the slight delay between playing the note and the sound and if you aren’t the one playing, you can’t tell at all no matter how good your ear is.
The sound on the keyboard is beautiful it has good sound on it’s own and it can be hooked up to speakers to fill an auditorium of any size or to headphones so it can be played while my husband is in a zoom meeting!
It can also be programmed to have multiple tones and even to have single keys play different chords! It can make a simple piece of melody turn into a symphony with the right adjustments!
It also can be made to play as different instruments, many keyboards do this, what I like about this keyboard is that you can program it so only half or only certain areas or keys play as different instruments!
This makes it insanely versatile and gives nearly unlimited creativity to someone who wants to enhance a piece of music or compose their own music.
It’s easy to record of off, their are multiple methods to plug into the keyboard with from cords, USB, thumb drives, MP3 players etc
There were two surprises when it came in, I kind of thought it came with the bag it was shown with in many of the pictures. It doesn’t come with that.
I DID think I would have to buy the sustaining pedal, I was delighted to find that it was included!! It works great and I thought I would have to buy it later.
The keyboard is a large machine and I’m not sure how portable I would consider it to be. Definitely get it and measure it before buying a bag or case to make sure it will fit as I was surprised by how ‘deep’ it was.
It doesn’t take up a lot of room, except that it is a full 88 keys and that’s going to be fairly long. It has good speakers and a lot of components. It’s definitely a worthy piece of equipment and sturdy. It’s not extremely heavy, but it’s not light either. It’s very much worth it for the sound you get and everything else.
Giovanni
Very good. Weighted keys. Recommended, without self, without buts.
Adam
The keyboard is great, the hammer action on the keys is just like a real piano. I found it to be a great option for a high quality keyboard on a budget. The speaker isn't bad at all. It comes with a music stand and foot pedals. One downside is that the music stand came very scratched, although it doesn't affect the actual function of the keyboard so I did not return it. Also, if you want to use regular earphones / headphones with the keyboard you will need a jack / adaptor. Overall, would recommend for the value and quality.

It's beautiful, a dream come true, now to learn. It won't be easy but I'm determined...

Foreword that I'm not a pianist, I took this keyboard as a personal whim after seeing some competitors. I must say that it looks very well, with weighted keys that give the feeling of a real piano.
Also it already has many sounds inside and there is also the ability to connect it to the pc to record.
So I would recommend it to those looking for a keyboard with a great quality/price.
Andrea
I'm not a connoisseur. I've been playing piano recently. This digital piano has a really good response, the key weighed by a good response and simulates, albeit in a simple way, the answer of a hammer piano. For starters and having fun is great.
mangamanu
Great tool arrived on time, even if the courier was about to deliver it to another person, fortunately I was at home . After all, everything is fine, the piano is well made with weighted keys just like the real piano! Highly recommended given the value for money. My boyfriend also made the custom cloth to cover the keyboard.
Laszlo Horoba
I've been wanting to start playing piano for some time, but I didn't want to spend that much money.
Now I bought the thunder DEP-20 and am thrilled, the price-performance ratio is great.
The delivery was fast and there were no complications.
After unpacking it, I noticed right away that it is stable/sturdy and also has a good grip on its own feet.
Together with the keyboard came a pedal that was easy to plug in and felt good, as well as a sheet of music holder that was easy to assemble and firmly seated.
The design is simple and simple and looks just chic.
What also surprised me is the possibility of ports, you can connect any laptop/computer with USB and use it easily, as well with USB sticks.
The keys of this electric piano are just awesome, the full weighting feels authentic and you don't want to stop playing.
The thing I like best about this electric piano by far is that the piano sounds really good, it's a clear and beautiful sound.
All in all: Can I just recommend this electric piano, it's perfect for beginners as well built and sounds awesome and sounds awesome.
Jennifer
This is a very good piano, great value for money, great sound quality, and awesome for beginners. My son and I started piano lessons this fall and we love it!
Nancy
On turning on there can be a problem with some notes sounding louder than others. Turning on and off seems to rectify this.
Minneapolis Mopar
This keyboard sounds like my friends perfectly tuned stringed piano! This is an exciting purchase for me. I only learned chords a few years ago and always just messed around with it to have fun. This is my first purchase where I’m going to use it to write my own music and so far I am overly satisfied. Although I was disappointed it didn’t come with a stand and seat I wound up finding a great deal in the latter and set up of the piano itself was very simple. The ports are incredibly easy to manage, I absolutely love the option to plug the headphones into the front side of the keyboard! Very good purchase for the price, I am very happy!!
Jadon McGill
This Donner Piano is a great piano for a great price. It has options for outside speakers to be hooked up, but I find the regular speakers sufficient for my needs. I am overall impressed with the quality, and value of this piano. Great for amateur, to intermediate players, and can be used for live performances!
yarely
This piano is great for beginners, the quality of sound is good
EdSa
Wow! Impressive quality and sound, A gift for my daughter! She was really trilled by the quality and sound!
Sarina
This piano works amazing! It has all 88 keys and it sounds like an actual piano. In surprised at how good it it is for the price. It's great for beginners or anyone who wants a piano on a budget. The speakers work great, and so do the volume contols. It has more than enough buttons and voices for a beginner or anyone that doesn't want something too flashy. It has weighted keys and touch sensitivity. I am 100% pleasantly surprised.
The only problem I have is the audio port for the headphones. I don't know what size it is.. but other than that it's perfect.
Catie P.
If you’re thinking about buying it, DO IT! I was in the same exact place debating if I should get it or not. For this price, TOTALLY worth it, it’s amazing and I love it so much! Touch sensitive and weighted keys with sustain pedal are great! Just what I needed since I didn’t have any of that with my last piano! So glad I found this, I’d highly recommend!
Susan L.
I love this piano keyboard. More piano then keyboard. Playing is so relaxing! I love how this really sounds like a piano not some digital toy. Great sound.
Marissa Exelby
This piano exceeded my expectations. I played on an acoustic piano for several years in school and recently decided I’d like to get back to it. My main purchasing decision was how the keys would feel compared to an acoustic piano. I definitely wanted something with weighted keys and hoped this would be good enough, and honestly I think the keys compare to a pricier digital keyboard — the keys themselves even have some texture to them, the black keys are pretty matte and don’t feel like cheap plastic.
I love that it came with a pedal, but it’s not the highest quality pedal. It has very little resistance when depressed.
I use over ear headphones with this and had to get one of those converter jacks. I don’t think the sound quality in the headphones is as good as the sound out of the speakers, but I don’t mind too much while practicing.
Mike Hubley
I like that it sounds like a real piano. The keyboard quality and feel is also like a real piano
Shannon
I love this piano and has held up nicely with lots of love from my 5 year old. It is easy to learn how to use the functions. My favorite feature is that it feels like a real piano but in a keyboard size. We bought a keyboard stand and a headphone adapter separately that has set us up for a great musical instrument. The only thing that I would change is the look of the thing. It does not “look“ pretty. It’s kind of bulky.
Note: those pink tabs are sticky notes for learning different keys. They don’t come with the piano.
Angelina
Very good quality! Lots of features. Definitely love this purchase!!
NutFarmer
Super easy to use and set up. Absolutely plug and play.
Great sound balance. There was an issue with the first pian, I contacted the company and they had a new piano on the way the same day. I simply printed a provided label and mailed the old one back. Very way. The sound is extremely realistic.
Sandra worley
Thanks my sons loves it and it has amazing sound
Jimmy Hays Nelson
We purchased this for my son as he started piano lessons. There are so many great features that they’ve figured out how to use on their own!
Golftigress54
First off Donner packaged this keyboard nice and tight. The description stated a 3 foot pedal but it only came with one and the music holder did not fit. I called Donner and they are reviewing my order. I am hoping that they fix the error. The sound is great! The keys weighted. Very nice. I am a beginner at age 66 but I wanted a nice and lifelong keyboard/piano.
Carlos Perez Galaviz
Love this Piano, it is not only very affordable but also sounds and feels like a grand piano. Perfect for beginners and amazing features!
Martin martinez
I got this one for my daughter she is a beginner and she loves it
Amy, Sarena, & Noah & Avery
Let me tell you. It came super quick and has amazing quality for the price. It’s not as good as an acoustic OBVIOUSLy but for the price you can’t do worse. The only thing it’s not too amazing at is when it’s shifting chords and you use the pedal it kinda sounds brown and ugly and mushed together just for one or two notes. Maybe my old piano I was just so used to and the way it worked and using an electric is something to get used to
Howard J Kump
like many folks this past year I decided to teach myself Piano, since we couldn't go out.
Looked at many youtube and other reviews on the internet. On avg this keyboard recieved the best recommendations for a cost effective beginner keyboard. I've been using this now for around 10 months. Not having played before I don't have anything to compare it to. It has held up well with not signs of deterioration. it is easy to operate with many more functions than I know how to use.
Interstellar
We've had a cheap Yamaha 76-key keyboard for a while but I've been looking for a nice 88-key with better feel and sound.
This DEP-20 keyboard sounds great and on full volume fills my large living room. Its nice and solid, and feels much more professional than the cheap Yamaha. They keys are very responsive and have a good weight to them, my daughter immediately noticed it "feels like a real piano."
Most of the extra features, like an audio input for backing tracks seems useful plus audio and USB out. I'm not sure we'll ever use the built-in MP3 player, although it could be nice to have a bank of backing tracks at the touch of a button (and no cables needed).
The dual-voice feature also sounds great, the default grand piano plus the default strings have a wonderful chorus-y effect
The drum effect sounds much better than I thought it would and has lots of percussion options available.
It has a built-in metronome, but also 200 built-in rhythm tracks. It also have a built in "looper" where you can record a piece and then have that piece played back, letting you use the drums to create your own rhythm track or maybe laydown the bass line and then play the melody over it.
Also the two headphone outputs on the front is great, no need to find a Y adapter when four hands are playing quietly.
Issues:
Its heavy (25lbs) so don't try to use a cheap flimsy stand with it.
Ali B.
I’m a beginner but my instructor told me to get an 88-key with weighted keys and a sustain petal and I’d be able to tell the difference from my first keyboard. It feels just like a piano and the sound is very good compared to my first keyboard.
Onur Orhan
I'm very happy with my purchase. Very nice keyboard for the price, with realistic key weights. The only downside is that the speakers aren't very good. If you want higher quality sounds, you can plug your headphones in.
Carol or Robert Lee
The weighted keys are solid and add the “feel” of a piano. The many “voices” help keep practicing fun. Tired of grand piano? Try honky to keep it fun, or tubular bells or even strings. The chords stay the same so you’re using the same fingering. I love it.
Edgar P.
I used to play the piano when I was a kid. I wasn't sure about the experience with a digital piano. All I can say is that I love it! The weighted keys and the great sound make me feel like I'm playing in a real piano. I also love that I can play it using headphones so I can concentrate in my learning without bothering anybody else. I'm still to use all the other amazing features like multiple voices, rythms and midi connection. I can't wait to experience it's full capabilities!
John R.
I've up-graded to the 88 key fully-weighted keyboard from my previous 61 key keyboard to enable a smoother transition from practicing on my smaller keyboard to having lessons on my teacher's piano. I've only just received delivery, so I'm looking forward to seeing if it makes my lessons more productive.
I love the new keyboard, and am finding it a big improvement on the old one.
david d.
To be honest, I learnt piano as a kid, & never played again. At 50, Bored, I thought I'd try again. More as a hobby, then anything else. I saw "The Donner keyboard" on my Facebook page and my B'day was coming up. So, I brought myself one, as a present to me. I love it, as a start from scratch beginning again , player. It was more then I expected. Sounds great, lots of different sounds and drum sounds to play with. I can record my playing. Would of liked to connect to a DAW programme , still learning how , don't know if possible. Really not important. All in All, every happy, Great keyboard / piano, would highly recommend for beginnings.
Dawn Grover
I wanted a full 88 weighted keys In order to learn piano and it’s awesome! It feels like a real piano and sounds great! I put a lot of research into which piano to get and I was not disappointed!
This is the best piano you can get for the price for sure!
cake
I like it alot. Ive never played or owned a piano before but i knew id have to get one with weighted keys to learn properly. This has a nice sound and is pretty loud. I havent messed with ay of the effects or anything because im a noob and just want to learn the basics.
Jeff Gaines
This is a great piano to get started with, and the weighted keys give it a more realistic feel than a cheap keyboard. The sound is great for the price. It weighs a decent amount so I recommend getting a sturdy stand for it so it doesn't move while playing. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone that wants to get started playing piano.
Mishy
My 7 year old daughter is in her second year of piano lessons. I know she needed to practice at home but still wasn’t sure if she was going to stick with it long term so I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a piano if she wasn’t going to continue learning.
This electric piano was a great substitute! The keys are weighted so she still feels like she’s plying a piano and not a keyboard. It sounds great and has a headphone jack. No complaints and perfect for a bargainer that needs a piano for at home practice.
Christine
My daughter wanted to learn piano so I found a local private teacher. Having a piano in the house was must and this electric keyboard is perfect! Worked perfectly out of the box. The keys are weighted and comparable to a real piano. The sound is great quality! The price was just right compared to others I found.
Mark Boone
Super easy to use and set up. Absolutely plug and play.
Great sound balance. There was an issue with the first pian, I contacted the company and they had a new piano on the way the same day. I simply printed a provided label and mailed the old one back. Very way. The sound is extremely realistic.
YELO
Great keyboard and love the weighted keys! Needed a full keyboard as I am seriously learning to play this as a beginner branching out from stringed instruments. Sound is nice and the key action is good. Looked at a pricier brand but this one fits my budget with great quality. Came carefully packed too! Love the headphone feature to silence my beginner errors from the ears of others.
Mark
I am an e experienced pianist who learned on a real upright piano that I just couldn't move to my home. I am super pleased with the sound quality and the feel of the weighted keys. It is by no means like playing the real thing, but for the price, size, and weight of the keyboard I am thoroughly impressed. I did alot of research about different keyboards that were lower prices, and am really glad I went with this one.
Keith
I'm a lifelong guitarist, but a beginner at piano. Took a chance based on reading the reviews and I love this piano. The key response is very authentic and the tones are great. I added a Soundcore speaker in addition to the internal speakers for deeper bass notes and it's simply amazing. I even built a natural looking piano stand from wood and now it's really off the hook. Good job, Donner!
l.clark
This was bought as a gift for a 9 year old. We love the piano! The keys are weighted nicely and love the tone variations depending on how hard you press the key down.
It has hundreds of voices and the first full day the piano was set up was exploring all the sounds.
Everything works as stated but we have only just set it up.
I would say it's great for children and adults.
Would recommend to anyone
C K.
I wouldn’t say this is beginner keyboard. My son is average and he said it’s not something a beginner would buy. He does love all the tones and how loud it is. Was a very good price for a Christmas present. I would buy from them again.
Jetset Joe
I love this piano just started playing the piano for the first time in my entire life this Thanksgiving and the sound quality is great especially for a first piano.

Solid e-piano, terrific value - excellent for beginners

I think it sounds great and is pretty loud.

This keyboard is just what I’ve been looking for! I was a music major in college, but didn’t pursue a career in the field. Over the years, I lost touch with my musical roots and decided it was time to get my skills back up to par. I recently began searching for a product that was in my price range, yet had features that were usually only found in more expensive keyboards. This fit the bill all around! The sound quality is great, the price was on point, especially for one with weighted keys. It’s not stage performance grade, but it’s perfect for me! I highly recommend this item!
Wyatt Massey
I bought this as a gift for a family member and they love it as they are learning piano but wanted an 88-key with weighted keys to learn with lessons. It sounds great too, the price is pretty high but it is a 88 key and weighted keys so it was worth it. Just be aware that it does not come with a stand for the piano or a chair/stool so make sure you buy those if that's what you want. Overall pretty good product, will re-review if anything else changes.
Janet F. Sala
I have missed having a piano in the house since I moved out to my own place after university. Our current home doesn't have room for an actual piano. Because I am persnickety about how the instrument plays and sounds, I had never really considered an electronic version. My husband heard about the Donner DEP-20 on a podcast. He told me about it, and we did some research. Once I had read the reviews and saw the price, I figured what the heck. Worse case is I need to send it back, or relegate it to the music room in the basement. Well, I love it! I've been playing every day and am working on getting my chops back! You can't go wrong. It's an amazing instrument, and not just amazing for the price point--it's just amazing!
Nicole
The sound is full the keys feel real and the quality is very nice!

Love this piano! It sounds beautiful and works flawlessly. Very happy we purchased this.

I was looking for an 88 key weighted keyboard for beginners and found several articles recommending this one. It was reasonably priced, looks and sounds great, and is high quality. I would definitely recommend this keyboard.
Carmen
Perfect for myself and kids as we are beginners. Love the sound quality.
BOBBAY
I just moved into a smaller space and had to do a lot of downsizing. It was sad saying goodbye to my upright piano but I’m really happy to have this keyboard in its place. It sounds great and is easily moveable. If you live in an apartment or have limited space, this’ll suit you well.
Shay
These note stickers are great for learning the piano. They help me keep my fingers in the right place. They also help with finger placement. I would recommend these stickers for all who are learning to play the piano.
Danielle
The weighted keys are wonderful! The sound is great too. I have great confidence that my daughter can learn on this digital piano and develop the strength in her hands to play a real piano with no problems with the transition. What a great find at a great price!!!
Imana
I got this keyboard for my birthday. I was looking for something that was as piano like as possible, that way I can practice at night or whenever I wants while my family is sleeping or working. This keyboard is great! Great sound quality, the keys feel great. Just over all great. Very good for price, would recommend!
Roxana E.
What an amazing piano. This is my first piano and for beginners this is awesome. It has a ton of different piano and instruments that you can choose from. It is very loud and the speaker are ok. You can also connect headphones on it so not to disturb other people with my horrible playing . Now I just need a stand for it and I’m ready.
Sarena
Piano is nice even on the floor don’t hate on me I’m not rich I can’t spent millions on a piano and this was a steal. I grew up with a real full piano.
They are so big though and I don’t have room for one at my house.
I used to play with a Yamaha keyboard that the keys weren’t weighted and it just didn’t feel right.
I purchased this because it was the least expensive fully weighted hammer action keyboard that I could find.
I am overjoyed that it plays so well and feels like a real piano.
Sound is very good and loud and the sustain pedal works well.
Would recommend this to anyone looking for something that is weighted keys to practice with.
Josh O.
It’s a steal, at such a great price. Plays well, sounds decent (not the highest quality but still good for its cost) but what I do when I want a different sound is use a midi cable to play through a laptop or iPad. The sustain pedal is also a great addition! The main and pretty much only downside is the height/thickness of the piano, but I still manage to use it comfortably despite this issue.
Catie P.
The sound bank is vast. Extremely, and also includes some great western instrumentation like stone chimes and more.
There is a built in metronome and mp3 option for accessing backing tracks.
I was not thrilled that the feet do not come off but that is minor cosmetics and preference. This keyboard is amazing really.
josh
Honestly, for the price, there’s not much out there that will beat this. It’s a great beginner keyboard that leaves plenty of room to grow as a musician. Can be used in a studio, at gigs, or just in the house.
Patrick L.
Overall, I am happy with this purchase and would recommend to those looking to learn the piano without investing a large sum of money or real estate in their house.
Breyla L.
It looks, sounds and feels like I'm playing a grand. It's not as top notch as a 1000 dollar one, but for people on a budget, its PERFECT. I have been playing nonstop. I'm so happy that I can keep playing piano despite the fact that school is over. BUY THIS!!! DONT HESITATE
Matt P.
First and foremost, for an electric piano at this price, its a great deal. I wanted a weighted 88 key keyboard/piano that plays like a real piano, and this does. I've had this piano for a few days now, and have been playing it a lot. I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone who is looking for an electric piano in this price range. The construction of this piano is a lot more durable than I was expecting it to be.
