It was just what I needed for the guitar I put it on, it can be mounted with the jack as the bottom strap pin or running outside of the guitar so it can be used on more than one guitar. It sounds good

Great little electrical pickup. Sound quality is wonderful! To keep wires hidden I installed through the back of the guitar replacing the strap button. I did have to make the hole larger by drilling it out. Overall a simple process and a good value for a great product!

I bought this pickup to use I’m in one of my acoustics that didn’t have one installed already. When I got it I thought the wood matched my new Alvarez perfectly so I threw it on that just to try it out. When I plugged it in and played I was Floored! This pickup sounds AMAZING! It sounds better than any other pickup I own and when out in Any of my guitars immediately makes that guitar the best of the bunch. Buy this pickup and turn even your worst sounding beater in to a contender!

Actually a very nice sounding and looking pickup. I have used it at couple gigs with a preamp/eq. But, it does not need eq for most sound applications. Love the appearance and volume control.

If you take your time and have a patience, then this pickup is easy to install permanently. You can’t buy a better sounding pickup for the money and once installed, it’s just as easy to use as plugging an electric guitar.

This pick up sounds as good as pick ups costing twice as much. Met all my expectations.

Works really awesome, I drilled a hole in the bottom and put it in permanently and after a month or so it still works great!

Easy to install and sounds great.

I wanted a pickup for live and studio recording. The mix of a well manufactured sound hole pickup and mic I just the tmright place gives this pickup two thumbs up. The quality matches if surpasses pickups costing 3 times as much. Well done Donner. I am finding myself with more and more Donner equipment in my arsenal.

To say that I was impressed is an understatement. Not only does this pickup work exactly as expected (like other similar acoustic-insert pickups I've used in the past) but it looks great, feels great (like a quality product), and installs securely incredibly easy. AND it has the added benefit of an onboard volume and tone control - which actually wasn't available on the other similar acoustic-insert pickups that I've used in the past. It took me less than a minute to install, and when I wanted to remove the pickup it was just as quick. All I had to do is push the strings slightly aside and insert or remove the pickup. The included cable is a perfect length for reaching to the rear strap peg, while wrapping blow the body, and their included jack-sleeve is a very nice addition (again, not something included on other similar acoustic-insert pickups). Overall I'm very pleased with this and will use it as often as I need it, both personally and at my open-mic (b/c often musicians will come without electronics in their acoustic guitar and this is a perfect solution for that).

It was easy enough to install that my 13 year old son was able to do it on his own. He absolutely loves this. We are very pleased with our purchase. The sound quality is good. He loves being able to play this as an accoustic or electric.

It sounded great. I used it to a guitar that I use at church. It sounded a lot better than I expected.

By turning the volume all the way down, your guitar plays as a straight acoustic instrument. But once you start to dial up the volume your guitar will start to play through whatever amp it is attached to. Keep in mind that the guitar will still play as it is supposed to. So depending on your amp, you may still hear yourself playing the guitar over hearing it through your amp. This was my experience, as I only have a small "at-home" practice amp. After playing my guitar through both this small amp and a larger speaker with an amp jack, I feel that the quality of the sound sent by the pickup is fine. The quality of the sound you will hear is dependent upon the amp you use.
In conclusion, if you want to be able to play your acoustic guitar as if it was an acoustic-electric, this pickup will do the job admirably. Easy installation, easy setup, easy controls.

No battery is required, which is great and can effectively reduce noise.
Can control volume and tone

This pickup sounds very good.

Easy to assemble and light weight, it will not interfere with the way you play the instrument in any way.
In short, excellent value for money and worth recommending.

This is so good.
I have wanted one for some time.
Easy to attach to the Guitar.
And it gives my guitar a new lease of life.
I have used it and the sound is very good.
I think this is great value for money.

Quite an exceptional little piece of kit! This has honestly scaled up the quality of my guitar recordings without the need for an expensive microphone! Would definitely recommend!

Installed on no time.. cable clips supplied etc.. fixed mine as permanent and the cable reached ready the strap/socket hole and this is on a Gibson jumbo
Well done donner

Cheaper than "Woody" Pickups, but Loud, Bright Sound., via discreet Tone & Volume Controls Poor Instructions, but easy follow Diagrams. Optional External, or Internal fitting. I Taped Wiring to Guitar Body with Gorilla Tape, as clips aren't strong enough for constant use, but once proved it worked well, I opted for Internal fitting. NB: NO NEED TO GET ARM STUCK IN GUITAR! To thread Cable through End Peg Hole ~ Remove End-Peg. Drill Hole slightly larger than barrel of Jack Socket. Put fixing Washers & Nut on an old E-String. Push into Body until it reaches Sound Hole. Tie String through Holes in end of Jack Socket. Pull back through, attach Washers, Nut & Strap Button. A very neat, discreet Upgrade.

I got this expecting not a huge amount from it. I've been really surprised.
It's easy to install and comes with a handy little attachment for your strap button that holds the wire and jack.
It definitely looks the part and the unit feels solid.
There is absolutely no hiss or buzz from it even with the volume and gain up (on an acoustic channel).
I was surprised by the clarity along with how it copes with fingerpicking and will look forward to getting this out and seeing how it fares with the band.

For a while I been looking for a acoustic pickup and came across this Donner pickup that called my attention. When I received it, I was impressed by the care of the packaging and the high end look of the pickup. I was easy to install and blended very well with my guitar. It sounds great and you do not need batteries, that is a plus. I was able to turn my preferred acoustic guitar int an acoustic/electric guitar in a few minutes. I am very satisfied with the pickup.

This pickup in my opinion is just as good as the Fishman. Very good sound

Really like this pickup. Seems to be a great quality with clear sound. It doesn’t get super loud, but the volume control is nice anyway.

This pickup is extremely easy to install, whether you go the interior routing option or exterior. The specs say it is not recommended for GS Mini or other travel size guitars, however interior install was very straight forward (yes required an extra washer and nut but for this price I'm not complaining). Tone is excellent for such an inexpensive pickup, comparable to some 2-3x more expensive. Must buy if you want a simple conversion solution.

Easy to install and efficient. Used a small screwdriver to adjust the clip on the pickup on the guitar; it's staying safe and secure. It includes three hooks to give you options regarding how to hold the cable. As you can see in the picture I brought the cable down and clipped there to avoid any issues hitting it with my right hand while strumming.
Comes with a tone and volume option for more customization of sound.

The first one only fit my 12 string which I rarely play so I gave it to a friend, then decided I could cut it down to fit my 6 string and bought another. Today I finally got it installed, it just sounds great through the little Spark amp I also recently bought, really beautiful. It's easy to shave it down a bit at the corners if need be to get it in, you'll maybe have to remove one of the clamps completely and get that installed from inside the guitar (I pulled it off with the strings still on and tight, any one can do it). Just remember, as I did not, to plug the cord in first.

I don't have a terribly expensive acoustic guitar as I am more of an intermediate learner. I wanted to amplify for a few reasons, not the least of which is to go into headphones when I want. (I have 5 kids and my household is chaos... loud chaos!)
This pickup looks great with my black classical guitar. It is a bit of a struggle to put in with strings tuned... and maybe would be best to install at a string change. The wood looks great!
If you are using a little pignose or practice amp (one of mine is an Orange Mini Crate), you may think that the pickup is not working well as your ears won't discern between the actual guitar and the amp. A more powerful amp, and you will know.
Tone and volume controls work great, but are a bit fiddly to reach once installed.
I believe this pickup provides true sound and does a fantastic job.
I should note that there are two options for "mounting" the 1/4" jack. One let's you replace the strap button and route the cable inside the guitar. This will require drilling, but is one of the best looks you can achieve and keeps the patch cord out of your way. The other is to simply let the cord and jack hang out if the sound hole, which is fine, too, if you tame the cord and keep it away from the strings.
If your string height is good and close, the pickup works wonderfully.
Overall, I recommend this!

I have been using the Donner DSS-6 Acoustic Guitar Soundhole Pickup for a few days now. The item does exactly what it is supposed to do, and it does it well. Using the soundhole pickup you can plug your acoustic guitar into an amp and gain all the benefits of "electrifying" your guitar.
The pickup is installed by placing it inside the guitar soundhole and then clamping it to the sides of the soundhole. The clamps to do this are built in and attached to the pickup. It would be easiest to install the pickup when you are changing strings as they would not be in the way at that time. However, if you install the pickup with the guitar strung, all you need to do is move one of the strings to the side a little. The pickup has volume and tone controls and a jack for attaching the amplifier jack cable. This cable can either be run through the body of the guitar and replace the strap button (this will require drilling a larger hole in the guitar body) or the cable can be run outside the guitar and attach to the strap button by way of an included hanger. The hanger has a holder for the amp jack.
PS: I have included a short video on how to install the pickup. I hope this helps people. And yes, in the video I called the "guitar" a "computer". I know. But I didn't want to make a new video.
