We purchased the Donner 30 Inch Electric Guitar Kid Beginner Kit for our eight-year-old granddaughter. The size is just right. This was intended as a 'see if you really like it' gift for a child who is not a natural musician. As such, she's discovered that she's less interested in practicing than she expected. No fault to the guitar though. It's not a toy; it's a real functional guitar. The sound and handling are on a par with a larger model. It's perfect for smaller hands and frames.

This guitar way over exceeded my expectations. The style and color alone are great, but the guitar is quality made and sounds great. I got it for my kids to see if they would take an interest to learning guitar. It is a great size for an 8-12 year old. It is lightweight and easy for a kid to manage. My son was immediately drawn to it and has been learning some chords. It came with this little battery powered amp that functions and sounds surprisingly good. It also came with a soft padded case and everything you need to get started playing and even extra strings.

This is a kids guitar. I feel like it will be alright for learning, though there are some surprising sharp edges on the guitar, almost like it needs to be more filed or something. Not an electric guitar specialist, so a bit puzzled with this. The guitar however comes with everything needed to get started so that's a bonus.

This mini electric is beautiful it feels heavy without being overwhelming for a kid. I’d recommend 12+ even a small adult could play this. The quality on the guitar is pretty nice but the amp is horrible. If you don’t have another amp or don’t plan on getting one don’t bother with this because you will only hear static. But for the guitar itself it’s very nice.

An adult can easily hold and play this guitar. The sound from the amp seems fine to me. My kids are beginners so this kit works well for us. Overall, this kids size donner electric Guitar kit looks great and is well built.

This is a very functional guitar kit, and the guitar itself looks great in person. The carry bag for the guitar zips closed and provides enough padding for carrying the guitar to lessons. The amp is certainly not the most capable but it will work best if you install a good quality battery. Overall, everything included serves a purpose and the guitar sounds pretty good for its size and the price point. This kit is not for people who are already into playing guitar but it's a great entry level for someone to play and see if they want to practice enough to move up to a higher quality instrument. Overall I'm very impressed with this kit and highly recommend it, the caveat being you probably will want to get a better practice amp sooner rather than later.

The Donner Mini Size 30 in Electric Guitar Kit comes with everything you need to get started with learning how to play electric guitar. It is a very well-constructed strat copy that is a perfect size for my kids under 10. The build quality, fit and finish is very good and doesn't look or feel cheap at all. Well, except the amp and the plastic Volume and Tone buttons (more on this later). The body is made of alder wood, the same used in Fender Stratocasters. The black glossy finish looks flawless, and has a chromed finished neck plate. The neck is made of maple has a nice satin finish that is smooth and feels good, and the fret ends feel good. The fretboard is straight and head stock looks good. The tuning machine heads don't have the tightest tolerances nor the most precise but decent for a child's first electric guitar. The guitar has a humbucker pickup which should result in deeper, thicker sound. This electric kit includes everything to get started including a nice padded case, strap, 4 picks, tuner, guitar cable and a mini amp. While it is a nice value add to include the amp, it is not very good. The build is all plastic, takes a 9V battery (included) and has knobs to adjust volume, tone and gain. Not matter how I adjusted the amp, the sound was distorted and had static which is disappointing considering the quality of the guitar itself. I would recommend getting a better amp, even an affordable used one rather than using the included one. Overall, the Donner Mini Size Electric Guitar kit looks great, is built well and is a perfect size for younger kids just getting into learning the guitar. However, the included amp does not work well.

I was hesitated about getting this product but I definitely happy once I received it. This is not a toy, it’s a really guitar! I am so impressed with the quality of this guitar. It has a heavy feel and the volume and tone knobs are way better than my exceptions. For the beginner guitar learning kids, I cannot imagine any other better gift than this. Everything you need are included in this purchase. A fancy look electric mini guitar, picks, cables, mini amplifier, gig bag. Again, really impressive. This guitar kits would be kiddo’s first door opener for their rock and roll dreams. I also did some research about Donner brand before my order, unlike those big brands with high price , Donner makes decent quality instrument at an extremely beginner friendly price. The reviews on those full size guitars are very high. Especially for beginners, you cannot go wrong with this brand and with this price. If your kids love music and love guitars, buy this! If you want your kids to learn guitar and don’t know if they will be interested in it, buy this! You will never go wrong with it.

This "Donner 30 inches electric guitar for kids" is really awesome , feels sturdy and well made. Quality product that comes with a perfect kit to start playing ( strap, string replacements, digital tuner, guitar picks, cleaning cloth, a 3 watts mini amplifier and the guitar bag ) it is a cool gift for a music enthusiast kid, i feel it's a nice way to start as a beginner, my 5 years old daughter is so excited to start playing in her guitar, overall it's a good product. Totally recommended

This lot comes in a great box with a bag and all the things a guitar needs for training. The guitar is very good for kids. The quality that it is made of is very nice and solid and the notes that come out of it come out beautifully. The color is very beautiful. The reason for giving four stars is because it came with a scratch I recommend to buy it is very suitable for this price

My 8 yr old has really enjoyed this guitar. It’s the perfect size for him. It’s a heavy, quality guitar. The little amp and color and style of the guitar is adorable. Sound is okay. He is learning to play on it so I’m happy.

Wow, this is what dreams are made of!!! This is exactly what I would have wanted as a child and honestly my seven year old daughter is living her best life! She is set to start lessons next week and this really got her hyped up. The only downside is, I wish this was in a hard case - as we all know children and adults can drop things and a soft case is just asking for damage! I am also having issues with the D string staying tuned - I am not sure why though as everything seems to be in place and working properly. I will just have to take it apart and re-string it. Beautiful color nice weight great size for a kid easy to tune comes with a tuning instrument carrying case small amp with a battery plug to plug into the guitar and the amp comes with four guitar picks and extra guitar strings really nice as a gift great value has a volume button on the guitar. The battery was dead for the app so we weren’t able to test to see if it works

I bought this guitar as a gift for my friend's 4 year old daughter who has expressed interest in guitar. I've been playing guitar for over 20 years so I wanted to get a guitar package that was appropriately sized, not completely shoddy like some of the beginner guitars I remember learning on, and budget-minded. I say budget-minded because at that age I realize this guitar can likely end up just being a toy or prop (or lose interest all together) so you wouldn't want to spend too much on something nicer, say a Squire Mini. Also, although the Squire Mini is a smaller 3/4 scale guitar intended for kids, I feel it is still too large for my friends daughter. I bought the Surf Green ST 30-inch guitar package. I've included a photo of it next to some of my other guitars to show the size difference. Everything appeared to be included with the package (strap, bag, picks, amp) but I did not open any of those items since it is a gift. Refer to other reviewers comments for the accessories. I only took the guitar out to make sure it is set up as good as it can be. For the money, overall I am satisfied with the guitar. As others have mentioned, the tuners are imprecise and the slightest turn can make it hard to dial in the tuning, but not unexpected on a budget guitar. Some of the frets stick out as well that need addressed, but this can even happen on more expensive guitars. The biggest hurdle with this guitar, and generally any beginner guitar, is tuning stability and intonation. As other reviews have mentioned it can be difficult to stay in tune. Here is what I did to help alleviate this. 1) I installed thicker strings. The guitar comes with ~9s (9-42 strings). If you plan to keep them on there, you should tune the guitar sharp as recommended in the one product picture. A standard tuned guitar is E A D G B E, so you would tune it up a a step to say F# B E A C# F#. I preferred to put on thicker strings (10-46 strings) so I could put it in standard tuning and make it easier for playing along with songs. 2) Lubricated all the string contact points. This includes the string trees on the headstock, the nut, and the bridge saddles. I used a pencil for the nut slots and then applied a little vaseline with a q tip. 3) Adjust the bridge saddles so they are level. Changing string gage you have to intonate the guitar. I noticed that the bridge saddles were somewhat loose in the sense they would shift left to right, which greatly affects tuning stability. On mine, some of the bridges weren't level so I adjusted the string height and then ensured they were level. The low E string I may need to trim the screw for the saddle as it started to go into the string as I was intonating. You can hear it sounds a little off in the video when I play the two lower power chords, but I didn't want to address that until the guitar sat a few days and the strings settled in. Overall that all helped tuning stability.
